Learning from Life

Years ago, my husband and I traveled internationally on a sailboat while homeschooling our children.

I was intrigued by how our children could be in the same place and do many of the same activities yet their daily journals held so little in common. Their journals seemed to exemplify that no two journeys are ever the same because we experience life with our soul, and what we learn is shaped by who we are and what we want or need in our lives.

As an educator for over thirty years, with diverse learners in diverse settings, I believe our most valuable learning comes from how we allow our learning, negative or positive, to influence our life. This website was created for me by the director of Tizza Design, the little girl in the photo who grew up and named her company after the boat she lived on and learned on for part of her life.

No matter where we are born or what circumstances we are born into, we all are given one life to learn from and it is up to each of us to decide how and where our learning will lead us.

"Life itself is your teacher, and you are in a constant state of learning." Bruce Lee
